Irving Locker

Renowned D-Day Veteran (Utah Beach), Battle of the Bulge and Concentration Camp Liberator

Irving Locker, a true American hero, was raised in Passaic, New Jersey, the youngest of seven children. He was drafted into the US Army right after his high school graduation. His unit landed on Utah Beach on D-Day, later fought through the Battle of the Bulge and played a role in liberating one of the Nazi’s horrific concentration camps. He became a Staff Sgt. at the age of 19, in charge of 65 men and four 90 millimeter guns, which his captain called the achievement of a lifetime. His men referred to him as “a giant of a little man.”

After the war, Irving started his own successful graphic arts equipment business, selling worldwide. He and his wife Bernice of 71 years were blessed with two sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2008, they retired to Florida, where they have continued their favorite pastime of ballroom dancing.

To this very day, he delivers powerful and mesmerizing presentations around the globe about his World War II experiences, passionately speaking to schools, clubs and various organizations about his extraordinary journey of service.

Irving was honored by President Trump for his esteemed record as a World War II veteran at the State of the Union Address in 2019.
